Here is a little 'off color' piece to lighten things up a bit here on the Vine. With the latest exposure of 'boobage' by Ms. Leann Rimes in a very high profile and public venue we find that this is becoming sort of a common place event now for most folks in the entertainment world. This includes movie personalities as well as those from the music industry. Oh and lest we forget we have those who have earned their so called notoriety by simply producing various kinds of porn and having it mysteriously become public. This is usually followed by a very high profile but usually ineffective legal campaign to stop further distribution of their product/s. For heavens sakes it must not be too successful or it would spoil all of the free publicity would it not?
I can very well understand those with legitimate issues such as beingable to breast feed an infant in semi-public areas or perhaps even get that all over tan at the beach. However these ladies are, for the most part, actively inviting their so called wardrobe malfunctions as a means of garnering attention. There simply is no reason to wear such daring garments in very high profile events such as premiers and awards programs other than to get as much attention as possible. Deep Vee cleavages, barely clinging wraps, see thru dresses with and sometimes without undergarments for modesty, and the ever popular "exiting the SUV in a micro-mini dress with or without culottes.
We are moving ever closer to actual explicit sex scenes in major motion pictures so it is little wonder that many of these stars and starlets are not at all abashed about exposing their charms for all to see. After all it is great free advertising and harks back to the days of the travelling minstrel shows where most entertainers were considered to be of loose morals and libidinous character. Now mind you I happen to be a male who certainly appreciates female pulchritude, especially when it is presented aunatural. However I still maintain that there is a time and a place for everything and there is still such a thing as decorum. One must ask themselves what ever happened to true glammor in Hollywood? Fabulous hair dos, great flowing gowns, fancy feathery boas, mysterious make up effects, arriving in the most luxurious of carriages and the whole thing seems to have given way to your basic strip show. All that is missing is the pole for gosh sakes.
I will not lie to you. I always look for the uncensored photos for my own edification just to see what all of the fuss is about. For what it is worth most of what is exposed is readily available at the local swimming pool where barely post pubescent young girls with delusions of grandeur show up in their momma's old hand me down two piece swim suits. I guess that what I am trying to say here is that perhaps we should show a little less faux shock when one of these happenings occur and pretty much yawn and say so what. That would certainly take the benefit out of public exposure since no one would really care anymore. But I guess that as long as there are hormonal young males around there will be a market for exposed female flesh so I suppose that my old age cynicism is outdated and not applicable to them.
Not surprisingly most of the criticism and disgruntled reactions seem to come from those of my age group. I wonder if perhaps we aren't just s little bit jealous that we didn't have that kind of an atmosphere when we were young enough to enjoy it more. Oh well. What ever the reasons it is what it is and we all must simply watch the passing scene and wonder what tomorrow will bring. LOL Most of us modified our behaviors as we learned life's lessons and toned down our activities a bit so it will be interesting to see what the next generation will look like when they are in their 60s. Also what will they be complaining about? Wow! It boggles my mind.
