OMG!!!! I am almost seventy years old and I want this car. The Toyota FT1 is not just a Supra remake it is almost a Formula One beauty made for the street. I have a 2012 Camry V6 with 268 horsepower and it impresses me every day. If they put a decent engine in this thing offering 300+ horses it will rule the road and give Corvette a run for its money both figuratively and literally.
You cannot long survive in the American automotive market without offering a decent shot of testosterone and adrenaline from time to time. This beauty promises both with spades. I hope that it makes it unchanged from concept car to street machine with a price tag that is within reach of most thirty somethings.
Now for those of you who are dyed in the wool American car enthusiasts let me remind you that most Toyota autos sold here today are manufactured right here with American labor and mostly American made parts. Like many other immigrants Toyota is now a third generation Nisei that is just as American as mom and apple pie.
I haven't seen this kind of excitement since the 1960s when Ford and GM started producing affordable muscle for the street that average buyers could afford. If they can make it cost effective and bring it to life at a reasonable price it will dominate the market I can promise you that. I could well become the new Mustang, GTO, or Camaro and give the traditional manufacturers something to shoot for. Yea!!!! Bring back the fun of the sixties.
