I just read an article recently about the predictions of St. Malachi and Nostradamus and their prognostications about the end of the world or Armageddon and the 112th Pope fleeing the Vatican while it is in flames. While this article implies that everyone including the Vatican security staff are playing this down I cannot help but feel a sense of eeriness.
I am not by nature a superstitious person but I am somewhat influenced in my beliefs by what others claim to see in the future. One of my most influential examples is the late Mr. Edgar Cayce. So when very well known past seers with impressive records of accurate predictions have on record a prediction that looks even slightly possible it kind of gives me the creeps.
The official position of the Vatican is that Pope Francis isn't the actual 112th Pope because in the past there were something like nine pretenders who kind of muddle up the sequence. In any case I am left kind of wondering about whether that matters or not in those old predictions.
As for the rest of the world no one has indicated that there is any credible evidence of such a plot. The worst that has come up so far is a ISIS computer that had detailed plans for spreading Bubonic Plague as a weapon. However that being said just because there is no known evidence at this time doesn't mean that a clandestine plan could not be in the making. If nothing else this article could give ISIS some ideas.
That said though I am convinced that would be the biggest mistake that ISIS could ever make. Yes it very well could precipitate World War III but it would also spell the virtual eradication of the Muslim religion I am afraid whether they are extremists or not. Several hundred million angry Catholics won't bother to stop and ask if they are militant or not they will just eradicate them once and for all to the last man, woman, and child I am afraid.
That is the problem with extremists at anything. They make such a nuisance of themselves and instigate so much anger and hatred that when others have had enough they often respond irrationally and very violently. I sometimes use the analogy of the man who became so enraged over the roaches in his house that he burned the whole house down to get rid of them. That is how pointless and useless wars get started sad to say. One group or another simply has enough and simply goes over the edge so to speak.
If I happened to be a Muslim or even a Christian right now I would be trying to get the extremists in my group to tone it down and shut up because they are attracting a world of hurt on the whole group by their constant badgering and obstructionism.
In the Muslim nations and elsewhere they are using violence and terrorism but in the Christian world they are using economics and politics but the results are pretty much the same. Both create misery for those in their nations and both have no conscience when it comes to destroying other's lives or taking their life as it were. Both are just as guilty in the long run of promoting insurrection and unrest both politically and religiously.
Oddly though the simple fact remains that both politics and religion are of our own making so in effect we are potentially the creators of our own doom. That is very ironic I think. We have the potential for unlimited intellect and growth and the ability to possibly spread our species throughout the universe and here we are about to murder each other over basically nonsense.
